The acreage of winter cereals in Ukraine under the 2020 crop was 7.6 million hectares, which is 0.2% more than last year. This is evidenced by the State Statistics Committee.
- winter wheat – 6.41 million hectares (-0.6% y/y);
- winter barley – 1.05 million hectares (+3.9% y/y);
- rye – 134.6 thousand ha (+16.7% y/y);
- rapeseed – 1.29 million hectares (+0.3% y/y).
The top three oblasts by acreage included: Odesa (1,045 million hectares), Zaporizhzhia (862 thousand hectares) and Mykolaiv (750 thousand hectares).
In addition, in Ukraine, winter fodder for green fodder is sown on an area of 1.35 million hectares.
